Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to patients, treating each person with dignity
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs and report changes to the clinical team
- Support patient mobility and safe transfers while following proper body mechanics
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
- Document care and observations clearly and promptly in patient records
- Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, patients, and families to support coordinated care
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) is preferred or available upon hire
- Ability to follow care plans, safety protocols, and infection control procedures
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Comfortable with physical aspects of the role, including lifting and patient transfers
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of patient care basics and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Compassionate patient-centered communication and teamwork
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
