Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care during 12-hour night shifts to assigned patients
- Assess patient condition, implement nursing care plans, and document clinical findings clearly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate timely treatments and handoffs
- Administer medications and treatments according to policy and physician orders
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient status, escalating concerns promptly
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by communicating clearly and respectfully
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact-state eligibility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS a plus depending on unit
- Comfortable working night shifts and handling acute clinical scenarios
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
- Professional, reliable, and able to work independently during per-diem assignments
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of nursing fundamentals, acute care, and patient safety practices
- Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
- Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and basic wound care
- Effective communication and teamwork skills in high-paced environments
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm during emergent situations
