Shift Type: Night, 4x12-hour nights per week, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM; schedule days vary, includes every-other-weekend and required holiday coverage (Night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care for critically ill adults and children in the ICU and pediatric settings
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory therapies, adjusting settings and performing assessments as needed
- Perform respiratory assessments, ABG interpretation, and develop individualized care plans
- Document all patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, nurses, and therapists — to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other like units as needed to meet facility demands and maintain coverage
- Respond quickly to respiratory emergencies and participate in airway management
- Support a safe, compassionate environment for patients and families during critical care episodes
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; pending licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in critical care/ICU settings
- Comfortable and experienced caring for both adult and pediatric ICU patients
- Proven ability to float between units and cover weekends/holidays
- Proficiency with Epic charting highly preferred
- Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
- Must comply with facility travel rules (locals within a 50-mile radius of the main campus are not accepted for this traveler role)
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent
- RRT credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced ventilator management and weaning strategies
- Critical care patient assessment and intervention
- Pediatric respiratory care principles and pediatric ventilator management
- Arterial blood gas interpretation and clinical application
- Strong Epic documentation skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis resource management
