Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote comfort and dignity
• Support mealtime needs, feeding assistance, and appropriate documentation of intake
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and family members to ensure coordinated care
• Contribute to individualized care plans by observing and reporting resident preferences and behaviors

Qualifications

• Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks required by the role

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care and ADL assistance
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
• Basic charting and documentation abilities
• Compassion, patience, and respect for resident dignity
