Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vital signs to ensure safe, efficient visits
• Perform specimen collection, labeling, and point-of-care tests including throat and urine samples
• Conduct venipuncture and assist with laboratory testing while maintaining patient comfort
• Administer injections and immunizations following facility protocols
• Provide telephone triage and handle pharmacy refill requests with professionalism
• Chart thoroughly and timely in Epic to keep the care team informed
• Prepare exam rooms and set up/assist with procedures to support providers
• Administer TB tests, perform suture removal, and deliver patient education as needed
• Operate glucometer testing and assist with nebulizer treatments when required
• Float within your skillset to support clinic needs and deliver consistent patient care

Qualifications

• MA-C (Medical Assistant - Certified) required; MA-R not accepted for this role
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant healthcare experience; first-time travel candidates accepted
• Proven experience charting in Epic is required
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet the 50-mile local preference
• Comfortable working in an adult outpatient cardiology clinic setting
• Strong communication skills for patient interactions and telephone triage

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C) required
• BLS certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Epic electronic health record proficiency
• Patient rooming and accurate vital signs collection
• Specimen collection, labeling, and basic point-of-care testing
• Venipuncture and phlebotomy best practices
• Injections and immunizations administration
• Telephone triage and pharmacy refill coordination
• Basic procedure assistance, TB test administration, and suture removal
• Blood glucose testing with glucometer and nebulizer treatments
