Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess communication and swallowing function using evidence-based evaluation tools
- Develop individualized treatment plans that set clear, measurable goals
- Provide skilled therapy to patients across the lifespan, adapting interventions to each patient’s needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care
- Document progress and maintain timely, accurate clinical records
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers to support carryover and maximize outcomes
- Participate in care planning and discharge recommendations to promote safe transitions
Qualifications
- Current state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in New Hampshire (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred but not required
- Experience delivering assessment and treatment for communication and swallowing disorders
- Active professional liability insurance or ability to obtain
- Willingness to complete facility-required screenings and background checks
Education
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required); ASHA-accredited program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in standardized and functional assessment techniques
- Strong clinical reasoning with experience designing individualized treatment plans
- Competent with documentation standards and electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with therapists, nurses, and families
- Familiarity with dysphagia management and compensatory strategies
