Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable schedule (Traveler's choice): 4x12 or 3x12. Day shifts: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM. Night shifts: 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM. Shifts do not routinely rotate between day and night; weekends included as needed.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, toileting, and turning
- Perform safe patient transfers and ambulation support using Hoyer/skylift equipment as needed
- Obtain and document vital signs (BP including orthostatic, pulse, respirations, temperatures) and report abnormal findings
- Conduct point-of-care glucose testing and pulse oximetry monitoring
- Follow infection control practices including donning/removing PPE and isolation precautions
- Accurately chart resident care in ECS and report changes in patient condition to the clinical team
- Support dementia and Alzheimer’s care with patience, dignity, and person-centered interventions
- Float within scope to assist facility needs and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff
Qualifications
- Active CNA license or ability to provide documentation of Alaska CNA application submission (pending accepted if application already submitted)
- Valid CNA license in another state and verification of completion of formal CNA training if Alaska license is pending
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of CNA/LTC experience (previous travel experience required)
- Comfort and experience working with geriatric populations, including Alzheimer’s/dementia care
- Willingness to work holidays per contract requirements and adhere to RTO policies
- Must have permanent address at least 50 miles from facility (locals not accepted)
Education
- Completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate or transcript required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills with activities of daily living and geriatric care
- Competent in vital signs assessment and recognizing abnormal/normal parameters
- Experience with glucometer use, oxygen tanks, and pulse oximetry
- Skilled in safe patient transfers and using Hoyer and skylifts
- Infection control knowledge including PPE and isolation precautions
- Solid documentation and reporting skills in electronic charting systems (ECS)
- Ability to support residents with behavioral and cognitive diagnoses (Alzheimer’s, dementia, TBI)
