Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and grooming with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor and record vital signs, meals and behavioral observations accurately
• Provide compassionate assistance during meals and help with feeding when required
• Document care and communicate resident changes clearly to the nursing team
• Promote a clean, safe and comfortable environment for all residents
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to support emotional wellbeing

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain promptly
• Previous experience working with older adults, long term care or assisted living is a plus
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with assisting residents with ADLs and basic nursing tasks
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and intake/output
• Good infection control and hygiene practices
• Compassionate bedside manner and patience with memory-impaired residents
• Ability to follow care plans and report changes to licensed nursing staff
• Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care environment
