Shift Type: Rotating day 12-hour shifts, 3x12 (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM); examples include Sun-Tue, Mon-Wed, Thu-Sat; weekends required every other week (EOW); day shift
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage patient care in the emergency department to ensure safe, timely transitions
- Perform utilization review and case management activities, documenting decisions clearly in Epic
- Lead discharge planning and arrange necessary post-acute services, including DME orders when needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (social services, PT, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology) to optimize patient outcomes
- Conduct audits and needs assessments to maintain regulatory compliance and high-quality care
- Float across units (ICU, PCU, ED, Family Birth, Adult Medical) as needed to meet facility demands
- Apply Milliman/InterQual guidelines and CMS/DRG knowledge when appropriate to support utilization decisions
Qualifications
- Active WA Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years inpatient acute care experience required (HARD STOP); 3 years preferred
- Case management certification (CCM or ACM) preferred but not required
- Proven experience with Epic charting required
- Ability to float between like units within scope and adapt to variable schedules
- Comfort working in a short-term acute care environment with high daily census
Knowledge & Skills
- Case management, care coordination, and discharge planning expertise
- Utilization review and familiarity with Milliman Guidelines or InterQual Criteria
- Regulatory knowledge: CMS, DRG, HIPAA and OSHA basics
- Strong documentation skills in Epic
- Experience in Emergency Department, ICU and PCU/SDU/IMC/Obs settings
- Conducting audits, needs assessments and creating plans of care
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and maintain patient-centered focus
