Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care and support with activities of daily living to preserve dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with ambulation, transfers, grooming, dressing, and toileting with safety first
• Take and record vital signs and communicate changes in condition to the nursing team
• Help create a warm, social environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
• Maintain accurate resident records and follow care plans and physician orders
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility safety policies to protect residents and staff
• Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or equivalent in Maryland preferred or required based on facility policy
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with geriatric population and supporting mobility needs
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to be a positive presence for residents

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification or state-approved training required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong resident-centered care and empathy for older adults
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, safe transfers, ADL assistance
• Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with nursing staff
• Attention to detail for charting and following care plans
• Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
