Shift Type: Variable 12-hour shifts, traveler choice: Day 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM or Night 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM; typical 4x12 (four 12-hour shifts/week) or optional 3x12 (three 12-hour shifts/week); schedule may include weekends as needed, day or night-only shifts (no routine rotation between day/night)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, and mobility
- Perform and document vital signs accurately, including orthostatic measurements
- Conduct glucose point-of-care testing and report abnormal results promptly
- Operate and monitor pulse oximetry and oxygen tanks safely
- Perform safe patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer and skylifts
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the care team in a timely manner
- Follow infection control practices, including correct donning and removal of PPE and isolation precautions
- Chart thoroughly and accurately in the ECS charting system to support continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (AK CNA license accepted if application has already been submitted with documentation)
- If AK CNA is pending: valid CNA license from another state and verification of completion of a formal CNA training program (certificate or transcript)
- Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required
- Previous travel assignment experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs and to work required holiday coverage per contract
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
Education
- Completion of an approved CNA training program or equivalent certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in assisting with ADLs for adults and geriatrics
- Knowledge of abnormal and normal vital sign parameters
- Proficient with glucometer use and glucose point-of-care testing
- Comfortable using pulse oximetry and managing oxygen tanks
- Experience with safe patient transfers and use of Hoyer and skylift equipment
- Ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition
- Familiarity with ECS charting system or other electronic charting
- Experience caring for patients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, TBI, and behavioral conditions
