Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and respond to changes quickly and confidently
• Manage mechanical ventilation settings and perform ventilator weaning per protocol
• Provide airway management including suctioning, oxygen therapy, and nebulized treatments
• Interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy in collaboration with the care team
• Perform and document respiratory treatments, patient responses, and equipment checks in the EHR
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab staff to develop and implement care plans
• Participate in code responses and emergency respiratory interventions when needed
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans, home equipment, and follow-up needs

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in New Hampshire or eligible to obtain licensure
• NBRC credential (CRT or RRT) preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS a plus if available
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to urgent staffing needs
• Current immunizations and ability to complete facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate degree or diploma in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program; completion of an accredited respiratory care program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Skilled in airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medication delivery
• Ability to interpret ABGs and apply findings to patient care
• Familiarity with respiratory care equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Clear clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Comfort working in fast-paced acute and rehabilitation settings
