Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living to promote dignity and comfort
• Support mobility and safe transfers while following individualized care plans
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with meals, personal hygiene, and grooming needs with patience and respect
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate clearly with team members
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required facility health screenings
• Comfortable working with older adults in a long-term care setting and demonstrating empathy
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident-centered approach
• Skill in assisting with ADLs, safe transfers, and mobility support
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
• Reliable time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Teamwork mindset and clear verbal communication with residents and staff
