Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, professional patient care and support during clinic visits
• Collect and document accurate vital signs, medical histories, and patient information
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient flow to keep the clinic running smoothly
• Prepare exam rooms, sanitize equipment, and maintain infection control standards
• Perform routine clinical tasks such as specimen collection and basic testing per protocol
• Maintain clear, concise patient records and ensure confidentiality is upheld
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow-up to help patients get the care they need

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience preferred
• Current Medical Assistant certification or relevant credential preferred
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
• Comfort working in a correctional facility environment; ability to pass background checks/security clearance as required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency taking vital signs and performing basic clinical procedures
• Experience with specimen collection and basic point-of-care testing
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Knowledge of infection control and standard clinical safety practices
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
