Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents with respect and dignity
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and document resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures while encouraging independence
- Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful interactions
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a clean, safe environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working with older adults and experience in geriatric care preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings/immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- GNA certification/credential required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
- Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with dementia and memory care approaches is a plus
- Good documentation skills and attention to detail
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
