Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents with respect and dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Monitor and document resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures while encouraging independence
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful interactions
• Follow infection control protocols and ensure a clean, safe environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with older adults and experience in geriatric care preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings/immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification/credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
• Knowledge of infection control and resident safety practices
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with dementia and memory care approaches is a plus
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
