Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients using evidence-based OT assessments to identify needs and goals
- Design and implement personalized treatment plans to improve function and independence
- Train patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, equipment, and home safety
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and physicians to coordinate holistic care
- Document progress clearly and timely in the patient's medical record
- Educate the care team and family members to support carryover of therapeutic gains
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and therapy program development
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) or ability to obtain state licensure in Delaware
- Current degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT, MSOT, or OTD preferred)
- Clinical experience in adult rehabilitation, acute care, or similar settings preferred
- Active CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong documentation skills and proficiency with electronic medical records
- Professional, reliable, and ready to join a collaborative care team
Education
- Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT), MSOT, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD)
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and standardized OT evaluation tools
- Treatment planning and adaptive equipment prescription
- Functional mobility, ADL training, and activity modification
- Interdisciplinary communication and patient-centered care
- Time management and caseload prioritization
- Comfortable teaching caregivers and providing home program recommendations
