Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
• Support nursing staff by monitoring residents and reporting changes in condition promptly
• Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
• Assist with mobility, transfers and safe use of assistive devices
• Document care accurately and courteously in resident records
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent required
• CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain promptly
• Experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen and TB screening as required
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for resident care

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and elderly needs
• Skilled in ADLs, transfers and safe patient handling techniques
• Familiarity with documentation practices in long-term care settings
• Good observational skills to notice and report changes in condition
• Teamwork and collaboration with nursing and support staff
• Time management to balance resident needs and unit responsibilities
