Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, helping with daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while preserving dignity
• Monitor and record resident conditions, vital signs and any changes in behavior
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary team about resident needs
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Contribute to a positive, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful activities
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents safe

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (state-approved geriatric nursing assistant) or equivalent required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Proof of required immunizations and clear background check
• Comfortable assisting with mobility tasks and performing physical care duties
• Reliable, compassionate, and great at communicating with residents and team members
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and senior-focused best practices
• Basic knowledge of vital signs, reporting changes, and documentation
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient, respectful approach
• Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
