Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the ventilator program to ensure best practices and patient safety
• Oversee ventilator management policies, procedures, and staff training
• Coordinate with clinical teams, nursing leadership, and respiratory staff to optimize care
• Monitor program performance, track outcomes, and implement quality improvement initiatives
• Provide expert clinical consultation on complex ventilator cases and troubleshooting
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements
• Mentor and support respiratory therapists to elevate skills and confidence across the team

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia or eligible for licensure
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred
• Proven experience in ventilator management and respiratory program oversight
• Strong leadership or program management experience within a clinical setting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional respiratory therapy credentials (RRT) recommended

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of ventilator modes, settings, and weaning protocols
• Ability to develop and implement program policies, training, and competency assessments
• Familiarity with clinical documentation and electronic medical records
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive quality improvement
• Comfortable providing education and mentorship to clinical staff
