Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility support to reduce fall risk
• Maintain a clean, comfortable environment and follow infection control protocols
• Support individualized care plans and document resident responses accurately
• Communicate respectfully with residents and families to enhance resident wellbeing

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain
• Experience working with older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs: bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection prevention practices and safe transfer techniques
• Comfortable using electronic charting or basic documentation systems
• Good observation and communication skills to escalate changes in condition
