Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, feeding and mobility assistance
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Assist with activities of daily living and promote patient dignity and independence
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect patients and yourself
- Communicate clearly with nurses, families and interdisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated care
- Document care thoroughly and timely in the patient chart
- Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe patient environment
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification; T-CNA classification is a plus
- BLS/CPR certification required or obtainable upon hire
- Ability to work overnight shifts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but caring attitude matters most
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and patient observations
- Knowledge of infection prevention, safe patient handling and fall prevention
- Basic charting and computer skills for documentation
- Strong teamwork, time management and prioritization skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and ability to build rapport with patients and families
