Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents as a Certified Nursing Assistant during night shifts
- Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support safe transfers and fall prevention efforts to keep residents secure
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in resident charts and electronic records
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure excellent resident outcomes
- Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (T-CNA acceptable if state-eligible)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Ability to work night shifts (5:00 PM - 5:00 AM) and the scheduled weekend pattern
- Up-to-date immunizations and able to pass background and drug screening per facility policy
- Comfortable working in long-term care/rehab settings and supporting elders with dignity
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical skills in ADLs, vital signs and safe patient handling
- Excellent communication and compassionate bedside manner
- Basic charting and documentation skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond calmly in urgent situations
- Teamwork mindset and flexibility to cover unit needs during night hours
