Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical patients during night shifts
• Perform thorough assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
• Monitor and document patient status, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
• Participate in safe and thorough handoffs to maintain high-quality care
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and best-practice initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in the state of assignment or a multistate compact license
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical RN experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS or other certifications as required by the facility
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a travel assignment rhythm
• Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and interventions
• Proficiency with patient assessment and documentation
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced setting
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and colleagues
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) workflows and handoff processes
