Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during night shifts
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document them in the chart
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and support staff to coordinate care
• Respond swiftly and calmly to clinical emergencies and escalate as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Support safe patient transitions during shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Adhere to infection control policies and facility procedures to keep patients safe

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina required
• Current BLS/CPR certification required; additional certifications a plus
• Comfortable and experienced working 12-hour night shifts
• Strong medication administration and basic nursing skills
• Reliable, professional, and able to work within a local-only assignment (commutable)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of basic nursing care, vital signs, and wound care
• Familiarity with medication administration and documentation best practices
• Experience using electronic health record systems
• Good clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in a busy night environment
• Strong patient education and family communication skills
• Infection control and safety protocol knowledge
