Bill Rate: $52,041.60 - $71,557.20 (without National Certification); $57,241.60 - $78,707.20 (with National Certification)

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform CVOR scrub responsibilities across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations with precision and focus
Prepare and maintain sterile field and instruments for cardiovascular operating room procedures
Function independently within established protocols to support surgical teams and respond to intraoperative needs
Assist RNs and surgeons by anticipating instrument and supply needs during cases to keep operations efficient and safe
Maintain patient confidentiality and exercise sound judgment, tact and diplomacy in high-stress situations
Accurately document case details and assist with unit tasks, including computer/keyboarding duties

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist with CVOR specialty experience
BCLS certification required
National certification preferred (NCCT, AST, NBSTSA); CST or TS-C accepted

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

Scrub skills for the full lifespan: neonate to geriatric
Ability to function independently and follow established CVOR protocols
Strong clinical judgment, tact and diplomacy in patient care settings
Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional conduct
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills for documentation and communication

Benefits

Sign-on bonus: $15,000
Salary negotiable for candidates with significant CVOR specialty experience
Certification-friendly role: higher pay band available with national certification (NCCT, AST, NBSTSA)
