Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room with focus and precision
• Circulate and assist during procedures such as on-pump and off-pump CABG, vascular bypass and carotid endarterectomy
• Maintain a sterile field, anticipate surgeon needs, and ensure patient safety throughout the procedure
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgical techs and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document care accurately and timely in the Meditech EMR
• Respond effectively to intraoperative changes and emergencies using critical thinking and calm leadership

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Minimum 3 years of recent cardiovascular surgery (CV surgery) experience (required)
• Demonstrated on-pump and off-pump CABG experience
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Experience in a CV OR setting and familiarity with vascular surgery procedures (preferred)
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR and documenting perioperative care
• Team player mindset, strong communication skills, and ability to work day shift with on-call coverage

Education

• Active RN license (explicit requirement in job details)

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular OR processes and sterile technique
• Skilled in on-pump and off-pump CABG workflows
• Familiar with vascular procedures including bypass and carotid endarterectomy
• Proficient in Meditech EMR documentation
• Ability to manage 1:1 patient ratios in the perioperative setting
• Strong critical thinking, situational awareness and teamwork under pressure
