Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams with accuracy and compassion
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain sonography equipment for high-quality imaging
• Collaborate with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to support diagnosis and care
• Document procedures thoroughly and maintain accurate patient records
• Provide clear patient education and ensure comfort throughout imaging procedures
• Follow safety, infection control, and departmental protocols at all times

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant ultrasound/sonography experience (as stated in the posting)
• Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program preferred
• Registry certification (e.g., ARDMS/RDMS) or registry-eligible preferred
• Valid state licensure if required by North Carolina regulations
• BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Strong patient communication skills and ability to work well within a care team

Education

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced sonography training encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of anatomy and sonographic principles
• Proficiency in sonographic imaging techniques and image optimization
• Comfortable with PACS/RIS systems and electronic charting
• Excellent patient positioning and bedside manner
• Attention to detail and strong documentation practices
• Ability to collaborate with radiologists and other clinical staff
