Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate CVICU nursing care for post-operative and critically ill cardiac patients
• Assess, monitor and document patient status including hemodynamics and cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex lines and devices safely
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans
• Perform timely assessments, interventions and patient education to support recovery
• Respond to emergencies confidently and participate in rapid response or code situations when needed
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in the assignment state (Plano, TX)
• 1 year of CVICU experience (as listed in the job posting)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and advanced cardiac monitoring experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced critical care settings with strong clinical judgment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN) – nursing degree required

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced cardiac monitoring and interpretation of complex rhythms
• Post-operative cardiac care including management of invasive lines and drains
• Proficient in ventilator care and arterial/central line management
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to teach and support patients and families during recovery
