Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile instrument trays and surgical supplies for spine and joint cases
• Scrub for spine fusions, ALIFs and all spine procedures as well as total joint replacements
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently to support safe, timely procedures
• Ensure proper set-up, operation and troubleshooting of OR equipment for spine and joint cases
• Accurately document case details and instrument counts in the EMR (Meditech)
• Participate in call rotations and collaborate with the perioperative team to maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred
• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience (preferably with spine and joint scrub experience)
• Demonstrated spine scrub and joint scrub experience (must-have skills)
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR is a plus
• Flexible, team-oriented attitude and willingness to participate in call rotations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred/required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR aseptic practices
• Experience with spine and joint instrumentation and procedure workflows
• Ability to manage instrument counts and sterile field integrity under pressure
• Familiarity with perioperative documentation and Meditech EMR
• Good communication and teamwork with surgeons, nurses and anesthesia
• Adaptability to fast-paced OR schedules and unexpected case changes
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to support multiple OR rooms and prioritize tasks effectively
