Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 12-hour day shifts with varied start times between 5:00 AM - 8:30 AM (Day). Also includes 10-hour day rotations every other week (EOW); first-to-float responsibilities across pre/post cath lab, surgery, PAT and pre-op.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled post-anesthesia care and monitoring for surgical and cath lab patients in PACU and Pre-Op settings
• Perform thorough patient assessments and continuous cardiac monitoring, intervening promptly when needed
• Insert and manage IVs and assist with perioperative and cath lab procedures as required
• Support patient admissions, discharges, and transitions of care with clear, compassionate communication
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient patient flow
• Document all care accurately in Cerner and manage medication workflows using Omnicell
• Serve as a dependable floater across unit areas, adapting quickly to changing clinical needs in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Current California RN license required
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience (perioperative/cardiac/Cath Lab/PACU preferred)
• Proven competency with cardiac care, patient assessment, IV insertion/management, and perioperative procedures
• Experience with Cerner charting and Omnicell medication systems preferred
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle high patient volumes (30–45 patients per day across Cath Lab and Surgery)
• No first-time travel nurses — candidates should have prior travel/acute care experience

Education

• BSN not required
• Active California RN license required

• Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) practices and recovery protocols
• Pre-operative assessment and patient preparation
• Cath lab procedural support and peri-procedural care
• IV insertion, maintenance, and medication administration
• Proficient charting in Cerner and medication management with Omnicell
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and communication skills in high-volume settings
