Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality labor and delivery care, supporting birthing people through all stages of labor
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using clinical assessment and fetal monitoring
• Perform postpartum assessments and support safe recovery and early bonding
• Assist and scrub for C-sections when needed, collaborating with the surgical team
• Respond to neonatal needs and apply neonatal resuscitation when required
• Document care thoroughly and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families about labor, delivery and postpartum care in an empathetic manner
• Advocate for patient safety and escalate concerns to meet regional performance expectations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license or ability to obtain RN licensure in Nebraska
• Current ACLS, NRP and BLS certifications required
• Hands-on labor and delivery and postpartum experience
• Experience with circulation management in obstetric settings
• NICU, pediatrics or scrubbing for C-sections experience is a strong plus
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to variable scheduling
• Strong teamwork, communication and clinical judgment skills

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing; BSN preferred
• Required national certifications: ACLS, NRP and BLS

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Postpartum assessment and hemorrhage prevention/management
• Neonatal resuscitation and basic neonatal care
• Operating in high-acuity obstetric settings with attention to safety
• Surgical assisting skills for C-section cases
• Clear documentation practices and interdisciplinary communication
