Roles & Responsibilities

• Set up, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and clean anesthesia machines, monitors and related equipment to ensure patient safety
• Assist anesthesia providers with induction of anesthesia and airway management, including intubation support
• Support IV and arterial line insertions under provider supervision and assist during codes and emergency responses
• Operate and assist with specialized devices such as Belmont Rapid Infuser and blood salvaging systems
• Transport and position patients safely for surgery and apply warming devices as needed
• Maintain supply and inventory levels for ORs and delivery suites so teams never run short
• Document patient data and clinical activity accurately in Cerner to keep records current
• Float across units to support anesthesia services hospital-wide, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork

Qualifications

• Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) via ASATT is required; candidates without ASATT will not be considered
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of anesthesia technician experience, with at least 1 year of travel experience
• Experience with anesthesia equipment setup, airway management, intubation, IV/arterial line assistance
• Comfortable floating to multiple units (ORs, cath lab, OB, Endo, IR) and working with a variety of teams
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and clinical documentation
• Ability to respond to emergencies (e.g., Code Blue) and function under pressure

Education

• Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) via ASATT required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise with anesthesia machines (General Electric) and Phillips monitors
• Hands-on experience with Belmont Rapid Infuser, Verathon Glidescope and B. Braun nerve stimulators
• Ventilator and RT equipment familiarity (vent management, CPAP, BiPAP)
• Strong airway management skills and support for intubation procedures
• Supply chain and inventory management within the OR environment
• Blood salvaging support and familiarity with related procedures
• Basic pharmacology and medication handling under provider direction
• Solid clinical documentation skills and comfort using Cerner
