Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful direct care to geriatric residents, helping them maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
• Support safe mobility by assisting with transfers and ambulation, using safe body mechanics
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff promptly
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment for residents and support infection control practices
• Document care activities accurately and timely to ensure continuity of care
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families, offering emotional support and companionship

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience working with older adults preferred but new grads with strong empathy welcome
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and able to handle physical demands of the role

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred, plus required GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in personal care, safe transfers, and mobility assistance
• Understanding of infection prevention and basic safety procedures
• Ability to document care accurately and follow care plans
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
