Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to preserve dignity and comfort
• Provide compassionate personal care and mobility support, helping residents remain as independent as possible
• Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff to ensure timely care
• Document care provided accurately and clearly in resident charts and care plans
• Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding practices as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA or equivalent certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant)
• Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or similar preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Clear background check and compliance with facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification (required or preferred depending on facility)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care routines
• Comfortable with safe patient handling and mobility assistance techniques
• Familiarity with infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition accurately
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, and care teams
