Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric patients
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop, implement and document individualized treatment goals
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu grounded in trauma-informed recovery principles
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned, coordinating care and guiding team workflow
• Use therapeutic communication and crisis management to de-escalate situations and support patient stability
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in the Electronic Medical Record
• Support restraint reduction strategies and apply de-escalation techniques when needed
• Coach and delegate to team members while contributing to a positive, collaborative environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Massachusetts required at time of submission
• Minimum one year of adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required
• CPR certification required
• Willingness to float across units and assume charge nurse responsibilities
• Experience with crisis intervention and restraint reduction preferred
• Substance use inpatient experience preferred
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records and basic typing/computer skills

Education

• RN license within the State of Massachusetts required
• BSN preferred

• Behavioral health and substance abuse treatment modalities
• Therapeutic communication and maintaining professional boundaries
• Clinical documentation and EMR proficiency
