Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and toileting while preserving dignity
• Measure and document vital signs and observe changes in condition
• Report clinical changes promptly to nurses and the care team
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and staff
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow facility policies
• Create a warm, respectful environment that supports emotional and social needs

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — current and in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Comfortable assisting with transfers and personal care tasks
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by the employer
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and infection control practices
• Ability to safely assist with mobility and transfers
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong observational skills for reporting changes in resident condition
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to challenging situations
