Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and compound sterile intravenous medications with meticulous sterile technique
• Handle hazardous and non-hazardous drug preparations safely and per protocol
• Perform IV admixtures, IV piggyback and IV push preparations accurately
• Maintain and verify medication dispensing systems and Baxter operations
• Participate in PATT testing and quality assurance activities to uphold safety standards
• Collaborate with clinical teams on therapeutic medication monitoring and clinical dosing decisions
• Package antineoplastic agents and manage chemotherapy preparations with attention to detail
• Support workflow in the IV room and float to nearby sister facilities when needed

Qualifications

• PharmD required
• Active Pharmacist license in California (Pharmacist State of CA)
• Minimum 2 years sterile compounding experience in an IV room, including hazardous and non-hazardous drugs
• Must be able to pass PATT testing
• Preferred: BLS, Chemo/Hazardous Drug Certification, IV Certification and RPh credential
• Experience with medication dispensing systems and Baxter is a plus
• Comfort working night shifts and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams

Education

• PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy)

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile compounding and sterile technique expertise
• Intravenous preparation, IV piggyback and IV push proficiency
• Experience with hazardous drug handling and packaging antineoplastic agents
• Familiarity with medication dispensing systems and Baxter operations
• Clinical dosing, pharmacokinetic dosing and therapeutic medication monitoring
• Knowledge of high-alert medications and oncologic medication workflows
• Ability to follow strict quality and safety protocols, including PATT processes
