Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled cardiovascular nursing care to medium- to high-acuity patients with compassion and clinical precision
• Monitor telemetry and detect changes in rhythm, intervening promptly to ensure patient safety
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, including pacemaker and CABG recovery
• Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate effective care plans
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient status using EPIC charting with accuracy
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and recovery plans to support positive outcomes
• Maintain safe patient-to-nurse ratios and escalate concerns when patients show signs of decompensation

Qualifications

• Current CA RN license required
• Current BLS required
• Current ACLS required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience
• Ability and willingness to float to Med/Surg when needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiovascular care principles and acute cardiac condition management
• Telemetry monitoring and arrhythmia recognition
• Post-operative cardiac surgery care including CABG and pacemaker recovery
• Experience with complex, high-acuity patients and comorbidities
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient education skills
• Proficient clinical documentation in EPIC
