Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and develop individualized plans of care with the interdisciplinary team
• Coordinate nursing care in collaboration with physicians and other clinicians
• Provide and oversee milieu management to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment
• Deliver patient and family education to support discharge and after-care planning
• Document, report, and verify patient information according to policy and standards
• Monitor patients for safety risks and promptly report concerns to physicians
• Function as a clinical leader by delegating, coordinating staff assignments, and promoting staff development
• Utilize and review patient care protocols, contributing input to improve processes
• Oversee medication and physical health activities as assigned and ensure safe medication practices
• Model the organization’s mission and values in patient interactions and professional behavior

Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Demonstrated competence with the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care and uphold the organization’s values
• Willingness to maintain annual programmatic training and demonstrate competency

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Care planning and nursing process expertise
• Experience with documentation and electronic charting best practices
• Medication administration knowledge and oversight experience
• Milieu management and de-escalation techniques
• Clinical leadership and staff coordination skills
