Shift Type: Starts Friday afternoon (exact start time varies) and continues through the next full week, ending either Sunday evening or Monday morning; approximately 10-11 days per month, block/rotating schedule that includes OR and ICU/CVICU call (rotating/varied shifts)

Candidate Pay Rate: $126 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced practice care as a Cardiac Surgical Nurse Practitioner, partnering closely with cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons
• Perform patient rounding and manage daily inpatient care for adult and geriatric patients
• Coordinate care across disciplines to ensure seamless surgical and post-operative management
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and use results to guide clinical decisions
• Write prescriptions and manage medication plans for surgical and critical care patients
• Cover OR call and ICU/CVICU call, providing timely assessments and interventions
• Assist with vein harvesting and other surgical tasks as appropriate
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic EMR to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority in the state of Ohio (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in cardiothoracic and/or vascular surgery preferred; critical care experience will be considered
• Proven ability to provide OR and ICU/CVICU call coverage
• Prior experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
• Comfort caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• No new graduates; must have demonstrated independent clinical experience in relevant settings
• Willingness to complete credentialing process (credentialing timeframe noted as 60-90 days; temporary privileges potentially in 45 days)
