Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for ICU patients using evidence-based practice
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and respond to changes in patient status
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and other advanced respiratory support
• Administer and monitor blood transfusions, central line care, and therapeutic phlebotomy
• Support physician-led procedures such as paracentesis and assist with bedside interventions
• Document care accurately in Meditech Expanse and communicate changes through interdisciplinary teams
• Safely manage chest tubes, NG tubes, wound VACs, drains, and post-dialysis assessments
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios (2:1, 3:1) and prioritize care to ensure excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (compact accepted if indicated)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (must have)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (annual)
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and advanced ICU procedures
• Experience with Meditech Expanse or similar electronic documentation systems preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and ICU workflows
• Telemetry monitoring and Philips telemetry systems
• Ventilator management, CPAP, BiPAP
• Central line care, port access, and blood transfusion procedures
• Therapeutic phlebotomy and physician-assisted procedures (paracentesis)
• Chest tube and NG tube management, wound VAC and drain care
• Use of Baxter pumps, iMobile systems, and glucometer devices
• Patient ratio management and strong clinical prioritization
