Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, evidence-based critical care to CVICU patients, maintaining high standards of safety and compassion
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support for complex cardiothoracic patients
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz catheter management and interpretation
• Care for patients with arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, Impella devices, and CRRT
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, perfusionists, and advanced practice providers to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about procedures and postoperative care to support recovery
• Mentor and support unit staff to promote a collaborative, high-performing CVICU environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or similar) — must-have
• Proven ventilator experience and competency in arterial/central line and chest tube management
• Experience or comfort with CRRT and mechanical circulatory support devices such as Impella (preferred)
• Meditech EMR experience (preferred)
• BSN and CCRN are nice-to-have credentials

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and respiratory care skills
• Expertise in hemodynamic monitoring and Swan-Ganz interpretation
• Competence with CRRT and Impella device management
• Proficient with arterial and central line care and chest tube management
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR documentation
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced CVICU settings
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
