Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform medication administration and maintain accurate BCMA documentation
• Initiate large-bore IV starts and assist with arterial, central, and epidural line placements
• Transport and prepare patients for OR including positioning and skin prep
• Assist with induction/intubation and provide perioperative support during procedures
• Monitor high-acuity patients using GE Carescape and communicate changes to the team
• Document care thoroughly in Cerner and ensure clear interdepartmental handoffs
• Apply critical thinking to prioritize care in a 1:1 high-acuity environment
• Work independently while collaborating with RNs, CNC, managers, and support staff

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years critical care experience (explicit requirement)
• PreOp experience is a plus
• Comfortable and experienced with large-bore IV starts and perioperative assists
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity patient area
• Strong communication skills and excellent documentation practices
• Willingness to float within scope of practice and stay late 1-2 times/week

Knowledge & Skills

• BCMA and safe medication administration practices
• Cerner electronic documentation system
• GE Carescape monitoring and familiarity with Fuji ultrasound
• Perioperative patient transport, positioning, and skin prep
• Critical thinking in acute and perioperative settings
• Clear, professional interdepartmental communication
