Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate oncology nursing care on a 24-bed unit, managing complex patient needs with skill and empathy
• Administer chemotherapy and other treatments safely, following protocols and documentation standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Use Cerner EMR to document assessments, medications, and care plans accurately
• Perform and assist with procedures such as echo and thoracentesis as needed
• Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and escalate concerns promptly to ensure patient safety
• Support unit workflows and contribute to a team environment that values learning and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required) — candidates without an active license will not be considered
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum ~2 years of clinical nursing experience (experience in oncology/med-surg preferred)
• Experience with chemotherapy administration preferred; Chemo Certification is a plus
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR strongly preferred
• Comfort working night shifts and weekend rotations; team-player attitude and willingness to learn

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• CNA license noted as applicable for CNA roles

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing fundamentals and chemotherapy administration best practices
• Medical-surgical nursing skills and ability to manage 1:4–1:5 patient ratios
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
• Basic procedure support: echo and thoracentesis familiarity
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy abilities
