Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and titrate mechanical ventilation and ventilator settings using devices like Servo I, Hamilton and Astral to optimize patient respiratory status
• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide clinical interventions
• Provide nebulizer therapy, CPT, and noninvasive support (CPAP/BiPAP) with appropriate monitoring
• Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in codes when needed with calm, decisive action
• Document treatments and patient responses in the EMR (Meditech) accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans, discharge teaching and equipment use

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) — active and in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience (explicit requirement)
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications (must-have per job posting)
• Comfortable and experienced with mechanical ventilation and advanced airway management
• Meditech EMR experience preferred by the director
• Trauma experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management (Servo I, Hamilton, Astral, V60)
• ABG collection and interpretation
• Nebulizer therapy, CPT and airway clearance techniques
• CPAP and BiPAP administration and troubleshooting
• Respiratory assessment and treatment planning in acute care
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation
• Strong teamwork, critical thinking and fast-paced critical care skills
