Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients, including ventilated and post-CABG patients
• Manage ventilators and provide advanced hemodynamic monitoring to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform timely, accurate bedside assessments and life-saving interventions using ACLS/BLS protocols
• Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document care clearly and efficiently in the unit’s Meditech system
• Participate in bedside shift report and update the patient whiteboard to ensure continuity of care
• Support unit-level policies, maintain professional standards, and contribute to a respectful workplace culture

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN License required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum of 2+ years of ICU nursing experience (high-acuity experience preferred)
• Experience with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-CABG care
• Comfort working in a high-acuity unit with ECMO, heart transplant and CVICU cases preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Strong bedside communication skills; bedside shift report and whiteboard updates required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and ICU best practices
• Ventilator management and mechanical ventilation troubleshooting
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive lines
• Post-operative cardiac care (post-CABG) and cardiac ICU familiarity
• CPR and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols
• Experience with ECMO and heart transplant patient care (preferred)
• Electronic charting in Meditech and clear clinical documentation
• Ability to work rotating schedules and adapt to changing acuity
