Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients across the lifespan with clear, evidence-based plans of care
• Perform thorough assessments and timely reassessments to track progress toward functional goals
• Provide hands-on treatment and manual therapy when appropriate to maximize recovery
• Develop and document individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and reports
• Supervise, mentor, and instruct Physical Therapist Assistants, students, volunteers, and supportive staff
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and the rehabilitation team to ensure coordinated patient care
• Educate patients and families to promote safe mobility, independence, and long-term wellness
• Deliver care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including swing bed evaluations

Qualifications

• Earned degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Current Colorado Physical Therapy licensure required
• Comfort with pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric populations; experience across age groups preferred
• Proven ability to perform hands-on assessment, assist with mobility, and provide manual therapy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and team collaboration
• Ability to lift and move patients and maneuver equipment (ability to handle 20+ pounds as needed)
• Comfort supervising and instructing Physical Therapist Assistants and students

Education

• Earned degree from an accredited program in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation, reassessment, and hands-on assessment skills
• Development and management of individualized plans of care
• Experience in both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy settings
• Mobility assistance techniques and safe patient handling
• Manual therapy and therapeutic exercise prescription
• Accurate documentation and progress note preparation
• Patient and family education, communication, and counseling skills
• Supervision and delegation with oversight of Physical Therapist Assistants
