Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing for adult patients, monitoring condition closely and intervening as needed
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and update patient care plans
• Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to cardiac or clinical changes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and safe discharge planning
• Prioritize patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice on every shift

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in Texas) — compact license holders welcomed if valid for Texas
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and telemetry monitoring skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork; comfortable working nights

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Medication administration and IV therapy management
• Patient assessment, triage, and acute care interventions
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Time management, prioritization, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced unit
