Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation nursing care to inpatients on the rehab unit
• Perform safe patient transfers using hoyer lifts, sliding boards and other transfer equipment
• Administer medications and manage medication workflows through Pyxis and unit processes
• Conduct bladder scans, dressing changes and routine clinical procedures with compassion
• Document care, rehab scoring and patient progress accurately in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with therapy teams and multidisciplinary staff to support patient recovery goals
• Participate in bedside report, hourly rounding and handoff to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (state license required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Transfer training (required) and demonstrated competency with safe patient handling
• Proficiency with EMR (Meditech) and experience using Pyxis preferred
• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (experience in rehab preferred)
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to take initiative in a fast-paced unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in safe patient transfers and use of hoyer lifts and sliding boards
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows and documentation standards
• Experience with Pyxis medication systems and medication administration processes
• Ability to perform and interpret bladder scans and basic EKG monitoring
• Understanding of rehab scoring and documentation best practices
• Comfort working with typical rehab patient ratios (approx. 5:1, max 6:1)
• Excellent communication, bedside report and handoff practices
• Adaptability to float to Med-Surge, Tele, Renal, Urology, Orthopedic and overflow units (excludes ICU)
