Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the inpatient acute rehab setting and create individualized care plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to restore function and mobility
• Safely use and supervise patient lifting equipment such as SARA+, Stedy, and Maximove
• Document assessments, treatments, and progress in Cerner PowerChart with clarity
• Collaborate with PTAs, OTs, SLPs, RN staff, and families to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and caregivers on home strategies, mobility, and fall prevention
• Supervise and mentor rehab techs and support staff when appropriate

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• At least 1 year of acute care experience preferred
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary cases is helpful
• Comfort and competence with patient handling and mobility equipment
• Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart or similar documentation systems
• Ability to work the Friday-Monday schedule and adapt to inpatient workflows

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

• Strong patient evaluation and clinical reasoning skills
• Care plan development and goal-oriented treatment planning
• Therapeutic interventions for inpatient rehab populations
• Proficient documentation in electronic health records (Cerner PowerChart)
• Safe patient handling and mobility techniques using lift equipment
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary teamwork
• Time management and the ability to manage a 1:1 patient ratio when needed
